Directions when you get to the hospital
When you get to the hospital go to the main entrance.
From there make your way along the main corridor to the lift lobby.
Go up to level 3.
On level 3, follow the signs to the George Pickering Postgraduate Centre.
Driving directions
The hospital is reached easily from the M40 Junction 8
(A40), 8a (A418 then A40) or junction 9 (A34 then A40).
If approaching Oxford from the North, go around the Northern Ring Road
(A40) and the hospital is then signposted from the Marston exit onto the B4150.
Follow directions into Oxford on this road. The road ends in a small island.
Turn left and then head straight on across a second island. At the next island
up a hill, turn left into the hospital.
If approaching from the south or east, you will approach Oxford on the
A40. Cross over the ring road when you reach it and head for the centre of Oxford
along the A420. This passes through Headington. The hospital is signposted from
here, but if you miss the signs, turn right at the lights with the The White
Horse pub on the right. Follow the road down the hill and the hospital entrance
is on the right at the first island that you come to.
If approaching from the west, follow the ring road around until you reach
the A420 turnoff into Oxford and proceed as above.
Parking at the hospital
If you are arriving by car, do not park in the piority or staff permit car parks.
There is plenty of parking available on the hospital site - for most of the car parks on the site, you pay on leaving.
Buses and Trains trains services to Oxford
There are good train services from most parts of the country. Trains from London to Oxford depart from London Paddington Station and take about 60 minutes. The hospital is about
a ten minute taxi ride from the train station and this is not expensive.
There are two excellent bus services from London, the
Oxford Tube Bus and the Oxford
Espress service with buses in each direction about every ten minutes.
Both services have a bus stop near to the hospital. Tell the driver that you
want to get off at Headington shops. From the bus stop, cross over the main
road and walk about 50 yards towards Oxford city centre. Take the first right
turn into Osler Road. About 100yards along Osler Road on the left is an entrance
to the hospital grounds. Go through the grounds to the main entrance.
